Haul: New Look & Superdrug

Last Monday, me and my housemate decided to go on a little jaunt into town for a little retail therapy. Who said anything about skipping our seminar? I certainly didn't. Anyway, moving on.

Our first stop was New Look where I found this awesome necklace. I'd been on the hunt for a nice statement gold necklace for a while and so when I saw this I just couldn't say no, especially when it was on buy on get one free. Because of said offer I also got these cute stripy earrings as well, all for the beautiful bargain price of £6.99!

Next up was Superdrug which has recently, along with Boots, become my vice recently. I first headed straight to Barry M, as I always do when I go to Superdrug, and made use of their two for one offer and bought these lovelies, Greenberry and Prickly Pear. So far, I've only tried Greenberry and I absolutely love it, especially with the little bout of Spring we had.

My next purchase is a little bit random. This Monday coming up my housemate is turning 20 and has decided that we have to go to the club dressed up. The theme is "something beginning with the letter of your name" so, as I already have the costume, I'm going as Minnie Mouse. I decided it'd be fun to add some crazy long lashes into the mix, hence this purchase. I've never actually worn false eyelashes before so I also bought some cheaper ones to have a practice with.

I then sauntered down to my other favourite section, Rimmel. I'd been wanting a new lipstick that was more day friendly as the majority of mine are bright red so I plumped for shade 08 from the Kate Moss range. This is one of those "my lips but better' shades. I have to say I love these lipsticks, they are one of the few that don't dry my lips out like absolute biatch. Definitely going to gets me some of these bad boys!

Then as bit of an impulse, just before I got into the queue to pay, I picked up this eyebrow pencil. I don't normally do much with my eyebrows but I thought I'd give this a go and see how we get along.

I also bought a few other more boring things such as eyedrops and a birthday card for the previously mentioned housemate but I'm sure you don't really care. So, that was what i bought this week. I'd say there probably won't be another haul for a while but who am I kidding really?

Mini Haul: The Perks Of Being A Potterhead

Today I got a pleasant little surprise when I walked in from the freezing cold after my lecture this morning. Two packages were sitting on the table and they had my name on them. I love post.

I've wanted this DVD since the second the credits started rolling when I first saw Perks back in September. Finally it had arrived. No guesses as to what I'm doing tonight. I'm pleased to see that there's a commentary with the cast and not just the director. Cast commentaries are the best kind of commentaries. On a more negative note, why in the sam heck are there no bloopers? Seriously, there should be a law against it. They're the main reason I buy DVD's! Oh well, hopefully they've made up for with the rest of the extras.

This was a bit of an impulse buy. For some reason at the start of this month I just had a major urge to buy something. Nothing in particular, just something, which is strange cause I don't normally like spending money. Anyway, I had a gander around my pinterest and decided I wanted to buy something nerdy, you know, as you do. After a search through eBay I settled on this beauty. I could have got one for like £3 but none of them had it that the circle could spin which I really wanted. It was still only a tenner which is pretty awesome seeing as it comes with two chains, the black one pictured and an ordinary silver one. It also came way sooner than I expected. I took 9 days despite it estimated 14-20. Not gonna complain.

If you too want one of these awesome Deathly Hallow necklaces then head on over here.

Haul: Shoes Shoes Shoes!

On Wednesday, my sister and I went off on a little jaunt into town. We had a purpose, we needed bridesmaid shoes. Well, it's safe to say I left with a little more than bridesmaid shoes...

First we wandered into River Island which is where I made my first splurge.

I'd been on the lookout for a jacket that I could just throw on over anything. In the end I decided to go for the same jacket that my sister had already bought a few months earlier, because to say she's lived and died in it is an understatement. The photo doesn't do it justice, as it's got a textured pattern all over it which I feel stops it from being too boring. It's also not a classic suit jacket, it's much softer and therefore much comfier!

We then headed to New Look to start our scout for some bridesmaids shoes and although we were unsuccessful I did by some other shoes.

Again, I bought them because my sister already had them and had found them really useful. They're  simple black ballet flats with gold, silver and black studs on the toes. They go with practically everything!

I was also hoping to find some earrings for the wedding if I could so we went into a little jewellery store called Argento. At the time I thought I'd be wearing a string of pearls around my neck so naturally I was looking at the pearl section. That is when I found these beauties!

Now, anyone who knows me well probably knows that if I see anything that has cherries on it I have to have it. This was no exception. They are so me it's unreal yet the pearls add some needed sophistication for the wedding. Then my eyes fell on the matching necklace.

I couldn't resist. My argument was that if I had a matching necklace, I would wear the earrings more. Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Plus, once I got to the till the guy told me that they'd both been reduced by a tenner. Win!

Still on a lookout for the bridesmaid shoes we headed to Office which is wear I found these. They're so cute! They were also on sale, so it was rude not to really!

Then we went to our final destination, Debenhams. Lo and behold we found what we were looking for. I needed flats that were either red or gold while my sister was looking for shoes with a slight heel. We found these.

My sister's are exactly the same style byt red and with a small heel. Perfect! Plus they are sparkly and you can't go wrong with a bit of sparkle! They were also reduced from £15 to £4.50!! Bargain!

All in all it was a very successful shopping trip, although admittedly my bank account is now in a bit of pain...

Thank You Santa!

I hope you all had a lovely day yesterday! For some reason I offered to cook dinner but it all went off with only a few minor hitches, i.e nearly forgetting the pigs in blankets.

Well, apparently I've been a good girl this year, or at least Santa seemed to think I had been. Here are some of the highlights.

My "big" present was my two Urban Decay palettes, Smoked and Naked2. I've only recently got into makeup so I wanted these to pad out my collection. I haven't had a chance to use them yet but I'm sure I'll love them. I'm particularly looking forward to getting to try some more colourful smokey eyes.

My other "big" present probably looks quite boring. It's an M-Audio Fast Track, which basically will allow me to record vocal and guitar through separate channels and therefore, hopefully, improve the quality of my YouTube videos.

Next I received the cutest Harry Potter ring ever which was a complete surprise. It's so freakin' awesome!

Throughout the run up to Christmas my mum kept telling me she wouldn't be buying me any clothes. Lies! I'm set for life in terms of hoodies! Not that that's a bad thing.

Another more girly present was Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift. Although I'm not a huge perfume wearer when I smelt this one I knew I had to have it. The fact that it is by one of my favourite female artists is irrelevant. I'm horrendous at describing perfumes so I'm not even going to try. It smells good, let's just leave it at that.

My final present was from my sister. She named it my "calendar of dedication," in other words, it shows all my weird obsessions, from the ever enduring Harry Potter to more recent obsessions like Switched at Birth and Perks of Being A Wallflower. It's basically my tumblr smushed into a calendar which is pretty dang awesome!

Let me know in the comments below what your favourite gift was this year!

Oh and by the way, it's 364 days till Christmas! :)
